Cedric Christie
(b1962, Untied Kingdom) lives and works in London.
His previous solo shows include Rocket, London (2001), and Commercial Gallery, London (1995 &1997).
Christie addresses the relationships of form, color and material in a series of wall-mounted sculptures. Assembled from scaffolding pipes, spray-painted solid hues and installed at a diagonal, these piedes transform a mundane structural support into aesthetic objects which recall the color experimentation and dynamism of early twentieth-century artistic precedents.
